Despite raids, police are still clueless about the whereabouts of the Singhania brothers, accused of attacking Income Tax sleuths while they had gone to their wholesale outlet Trade Friends for conducting a survey on Thursday.
SSP Saket Kumar also said that they are trying to locate the three brothers but have not able to catch them. “We are working on it and expect that they will soon be in the police dragnet,” said the SSP. The investigating office however, claims that the Singhanias cannot run away from the clutches of police for long. “They have not been traced so far but will be in our net very soon,” said the investigating officer in this case HG Das.
The police had started hunting for Singhania brothers after an FIR was launched at Kotwali police station by IT officials alleging Kamal Singhania and his two brothers Vimal and Jai Kumar Singhania attacked with with the intention to kill since the Singhanias did not want any papers or documents to be taken out. The police, however, intends to seek warrant of attachment as the Singhanias are being suspected of shifting their illegal properties to some unknown location.
“We will pray for the warrant of attachment if they are not traced within two-three days as we have information that properties worth crores are being shifted from their premises to some unknown destination,” added Das. I-T officials in their FIR had also dubbed that the whole episode was pre-planned in order to deflect attention and shift the documents and other illegal items to other places.
An FIR under Sections 307, 353, 34,341, 323, 353 and 342 of the IPC has been registered against the three brothers charging them of obstructing Government officials while discharging their duties, attacking with an intention to kill and abducting them during a survey conducted at the outlet.
