In a surprise check to discover encroachment of properties of Jharkhand State Housing Board, Housing Minister CP Singh on Saturday rapped officials of the board for turning a blind eye to the signage in the name of Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Vinay Kumar Choubey on the guest house of the board.
According to a close aide of the Minister, Singh has sought report on the allotment of the board’s guest house to the Ranchi DC. The guest house is situated at Harmu next to the office of the Housing Board. Choubey was Managing Director of the board prior to becoming DC in 2012. The Ranchi DC could not be contacted for his view on the matter.
The Housing Minister also made surprise visits to other areas under the control of Housing Board and expressed anguish over encroachments of the Government’s property.
