Sight of tiger excites cops in latehar

Garu cops in latehar are the pride viewers of a tiger roaming around there. Garu police station in latehar district is in the critical area of left wing extremism.

Cops sighting tiger there has made them excited. Garu police station is one such place where elephants do also come quite close.

Speaking to The Pioneer DIG police Saket K Singh said, “I visited Garu police station on Wednesday April 27 wherein my boys told me of their sighting a tiger.” He said the cops were happy but hastened to add if a tiger is there the cops are nothing to do except to ensure that no harm comes to this king of the jungle.

However Singh said, “Cops’ real worries are too many snakes that frequent Garu police station. The snakes appear day and night. Some are poisonous like the russel viper commonly known as karait.”

On being asked if he (DIG) ensured the availability of anti snake venom here Saket said, “Prevention and care are better than this. We have asked the cops there at Garu police station to be alert at night in the wake of snakes slithering there.”

On Wednesday, the DIG went to Mandal and Garu, accompanied by SP latehar Anoop Birtharey, Additional SP Operations Bharti and commandant of 214 battalion of the CRPF.

The DIG, on his visit to Mandal and Garu, said, “It was just to know the well being of our boys there and also to find out what are the facilities they are now looking for themselves there.”
