Recent successes met by security forces against Naxals in Jharkhand would certainly boost the confidence level of the officials when they would discuss matters with Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday. This apart, the State would present development scenario and law and order situation prevailing before him.
Information coming out suggests that Planning and Development Department would give a detailed presentation about stages of various centrally sponsored schemes in the State before the Home Minister, who would be accompanied with senior home ministry officials. “The meeting would be based basically on law and order situation in Jharkhand besides taking stock of developmental schemes. The Development Commissioner and the Director General of Police would be coordinating the meeting,” said Home Secretary NN Pandey.
The State has secured some success in taming the red menace strategically when a sizable number of Maoists were made bondage and later killed by PlFI men, the rival group of the Naxals. The State is also likely to raise issue of bearing expenses coming on the deployment of central security forces in Jharkhand.
