Sharma banks on people's faith, NaMo wave

A first timer yet oozing with confidence,  the BJP candidate from the crucial Hatia Assembly constituency, Seema Sharma, is not deterred by the challenges before her in the Assembly polls.

Banking upon the faith expressed by the people in her constituency, she says that the city’s cleanliness, beautification as well as security of the common man will be her priority if she gets elected. Moreover, she will do her best to make women of her constituency stronger. Sharma says that by giving ticket to a women candidate like her, the party’s central leadership has proved that it is really concerned for the welfare and empowerment of the women of the Country.

“It’s really a proud moment for me as the party has chosen me to represent Hatia Assembly seat. This also proves that the party is considering those women candidates who have a mass base and are capable of winning the seat,” said Sharma. It is a plus point for the party if it finds a capable women candidate from a seat so that it can give more and more seats to the women candidate, she added.

The BJP state vice president had been made elections in-charge of Hatia Assembly seat during 2009 and 2014 lok Sabha election and had delivered well in both the elections. “Hatia had the only women election in charge among the 81 of the seats all over Jharkhand during both the elections,” she said. Sharma was of the view that Hatia being part of the state capital could not be developed as it could have been developed due to several known factors.

“Those who got elected for the Assembly and the Parliament, did not have much to do with the problems of the people as we all know how they got elected during the elections,” said Sharma. If someone wins an election through money and power, development itself takes a back seat as the candidate becomes very confident that he can get elected in the same way; which is not the case this time, she added.

The leader further said that if she gets elected from the seat, she will give priority to the cleanliness, beautification as well as security in the urban areas, while for those living in the rural areas she will see to it that they get adequate water for irrigation as well as other facilities being run by the Central and State Governments. “Furthermore, stress will also be given to strengthen the women committees so that they too can stand on their own feet and become independent,” she said.

When asked why people should vote for her, Sharma said that people have expressed faith in BJP earlier in the lok Sabha Elections and since it has a Government at the Centre, people here in Jharkhand are also looking for a Government so that a better coordination could be established between the two for the benefit of the people.

“There is Modi wave across the country and people want development and looking at him as ‘Vikas Purush’; if they want development there must be a BJP Government in Jharkhand also so that the welfare programmes run by the centre could properly be brought on the ground,” said Sharma. Sharma further added that she has jumped into the fray banking on the faith expressed on her by the people of Hatia and it is her responsibility to come up to their expectations of the people. “To making it happen, I will remain connected to the people of Hatia as I am not among those who purchase votes rather we are among those who win the hearts of the people,” Sharma added.

Referring to the advantages of being women that she will be getting in winning the elections, Sharma said that candidate run towards the women organisations during elections seeking votes for them as they know where exists the real power.

“If someone else could win elections taking advantage from the women, why not someone among us can win elections with the help of the fellow women” said Sharma.
