Shah flays Cong for instability, rampant corruption

Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to develop the State, BJP national president Amit Shah on Monday charged the Congress with promoting corruption in Jharkhand and the country as well and urged the voters to be cautious against the ‘unholy’ alliance of the Congress, RJD and the JD (U). Shah was addressing an election meeting at Adityapur in Seraikela Assembly constituency.

“A scam of `4000 crore during the regime of Madhu Koda in the state had not been possible without the support of the Congress party which was supporting it,” Shah said.

The BJP national president further said, “They had looted the state in the past and have again ganged up with the sole motive of grabbing power in the mineral-rich state for the purpose of looting its minerals.”

Cautioning the people of the state against such an ulterior motive, Shah said that Chhattisgarh formed along with Jharkhand prospered well and it was counted among the developed states of the country but, Jharkhand lagged far behind due to lack of instability.

Referring to the recent ordinance passed by the Modi government at the centre, Shah added that money obtained from auction of Jharkhand-located coal blocks will be used in the State for promoting development projects.

“Jharkhand is rich in minerals but gets very less royalty from its coal reserves but the central government has decided to utilise 2.5 lakh crore (out of Jharkhand’s coal block auction) for developing infrastructure here,” he announced.

Shah further added that Jharkhand was a rich state but its people were poor. “Money obtained from coal block auction will definitely pave way for improving the quality of life of people of this mineral-rich state which needs good roads, industries, electricity and quality education.”

he stated.

Making an attack on the Congress party, Shah said that BJP will never allot coal blocks to the kith and kin of political leaders but would auction them in a transparent way for the benefit of the people of Jharkhand. “We’ll not encourage nepotism in allotment of coal block as was done by the previous government,” added Shah. BJP would change the fate of Jharkhand, if voted to power with majority, Shah said. Besides corruption, political instability was another major factor for the poor condition of the state and Congress was responsible for it. Congress destabilized the majority of the governments in the 14 years of its creation for its own interest, he said.

He appealed to the people to vote in favour of BJP candidate Seraikela candidate Ganesh Mahali. Narendra Modi has raised India’s pride on international forums, added Shah.
