In an attempt to portray the glory of famous Chhinnamastika Temple at Rajrappa as a global tourist centre, South Eastern Railway (SER), Ranchi division, has renovated and made the Ramgarh Railway Station resembling to the model temple in Rajrappa, in Ramgarh district, around 28 kilo meter away from the station. Union Minister for State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha inaugurated the renovated Railway Station on Monday.
It may be mentioned here that Ramgarh Railway Station is the nearest station from Rajrappa, which is frequented by thousands of pilgrims every day.
It is plan of the State Government to develop Rajrappa as a global tourist centre and Rajrappa is one of four tourist destinations of the State, which comes under plan of the State Government to develop as world tourist destination. The State Tourism Department has provided Rs 200 crore for the plan.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion Sinha said that SER has done a highly commendable work as this will not only attract pilgrims but it will also attach people with our religious places. “The importance of Rajrappa temple in our lives in known by one and all. With a view to give impetus on tourism the SER has done excellent work,” he added.
Sinha said that the Government has done immense work to improve connectivity in all routs including rail, road and air.
“One of most important railway projects paving railway line for Ranchi-Barkakana rail line will be completed at the end of this year. After completion of the work a rail link from Barkakana to Ranchi will be started. As now the passengers have to go Ranchi via Muri from Barkakana.
This project will give direct rail connectivity to the passengers of Hazaribagh and Koderma from Ranchi via Barkakana,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion SER, Ranchi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vijay Kumar Gupta said SER division is always working to provide better passenger’s facilities to the people of the area.
“Railway has spent Rs 25 crore for the replicated model of the Station. In addition to this, to provide smooth lodging facilities to the passengers the railway is building a Dormitory at Ramgarh station besides work of construction three bathrooms are also going on and it will be completed very soon,” he added.
The DRM said that as the Station is not very big but due to attachment with pilgrims, SER has done the work because a large number of pilgrims visit the station every day due to the temple.
