In a bid to provide proper health facilities to the elderly inmates of old age homes in Ranchi, arrangement of a doctor has been made by the district administration. The doctor will visit all the three old age homes at a fixed time and keep a tab on the health of the inmates staying there. The initiative was taken by District legal Services Authority (DlSA), Ranchi through a letter written to the Civil Surgeon to appoint a Medical Practitioner who can visit to the old age home regularly for medical checkup of the elderly people.
“It has been observed that a Medical Practitioner is necessary for regular check up of the residents of Old Age Homes,” stated the request letter written by DlSA Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh to the Civil Surgeon.
“It’s really good that arrangement of a visiting doctor to the Old Age Home has been done by the Civil Surgeon,” said the DAlSA Secretary. Civil Surgeon was pursued by us and he was very prompt to arrange a Doctor who will visit all the three Old Age Homes regularly, he added.
Dr Ajit Kumar will visit Apna Ghar at Hesag between 9:00 am to 11 am, after that he will go to Old Age Home Kulgu between 11:30 am – 1:30 pm and finally to Old Age Home in Bariatu from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Earlier, as per the mandate of regulation 24 of NAlSA (legal Service Clinic) Regulation 2011 for looking after the pensioner needs, including old pension benefit scheme and other legal services needs under Senior Citizen Act and various Government Welfare Schemes, legal Services Clinics have also been established at Old Age Homes in Ranchi.
