The Ranchi district administration will increase security and vigil in and around picnic spots in view of pandemic situation on New Year. There are numerous picnic spots and waterfalls in Ranchi district which regularly witness heavy rush of revelers. The Ranchi district administration to prevent any untoward incidents has made elaborate arrangements.
Police personnel along with cops in civil dress will be deployed at these picnic spots to thwart eve teasers, anti-social elements. Police personnel will also be deployed at major roundabouts and hotels hosting the New Year bash. Ranchi Rural SP, Naushad Alam Ansari said, “There are several picnic spots in Ranchi district such as Dasam fall, Hundru fall, Jonha fall, Rukka Dam and others. There is a heavy rush of New Year revelers in these picnic spots. As a security arrangement, operational forces as CRPF, Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP), cops from district police will be deployed at these spots.”
The SP said that the main task of security personnel will be check eve teasing, brawl, and other criminal accidents at picnic spots. Apart from these the police personnel will also keep an eye that revelers follow Covid 19 protocol.
Sources said that apart from major picnic spots such as waterfalls, the Ranchi district administration has identified 67 points where police personnel will be deployed. Apart from police personnel the district administration will also ensure deployment of magistrates at these spots.
Apart from these all patrolling teams have been alerted. There will be patrolling on highways too so that anti-social elements don’t create any nuisance on highways. Ansari said, “Action will be taken against those who drive vehicles under the influence of liquor or create nuisance on highways.” Moreover, teams from fire brigade and ambulances have been alerted to remain vigil in wake up of any untoward incidents.
In the Capital City all police stations have been asked to remain vigil as several hotels are organizing New Year bash. Some hotels which are organizing New Year bash are BNR, Radisson Blu, Capitol Hill and others.
City SP Saurabh said, “There will be police patrolling on major roundabouts and even outside hotels where New Year celebration is going on. The police apart from keeping a watch on security will also ensure that Covid 19 guidelines are followed.”
The City SP said that there will be security on Hatia Dam, Rukka Dam and Dhurwa Dams too which too is frequented by revelers. Moreover, traffic police have been instructed to ensure smooth traffic so that there is no traffic congestion.
