CPI Maoists continue to lose their deadly weapons in latehar district. Sources said on Sunday security forces comprising jawans and officials of 11 battalion of CRPF and Manika police while scouring Barwaiyya jungle under Manika police station laid hands on a huge store of explosives of the Maoists and recovered 120 series land mines.
Each of the series land mines were in a tiffin box and weighed between 800 grams to one kilogram. SP latehar Anoop Birtharey confirmed the recovery of the land mines haul. He also added that security forces recovered one cylinder land mine which weighed 5 Kgs, two can bombs weighing 2 Kg each and 200 coils of codex wires.
Reportedly Maoists led by Sarwan ji had this consignment hidden in the jungles of Barwaiyya.
Anoop Birtharey said the Maoists were no where around Barwaiyya jungle and the security forces carried out the recovery without any resistance.
Sources said some villagers knew about this hidden treasures of the Maoists. Birtharey said the security forces were confident of getting this haul as the tip off about this was most precise and pin point.
