In a day break encounter with the squad of the zonal commander of the TSPC Shashikant between Bisrao and Metar under the Manatu police station, the Manatu police team and the CRPF outnumbered and out powered the TSPC squad forcing them to scurry to hide and run in difficult terrain leaving behind motley of things but no weapon except one air gun!
The security forces recovered one air gun, 5 cell phones, 2 power back, 10 pairs of shoes, solar panel, tablets and injections, blankets, diary etc.
SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha said last night he had an intelligence about the assemblage of the TSPC in this part of Manatu and accordingly a raid team comprising CRPF and local Manatu police was formed which had this encounter Thursday.
Officer in charge of the Manatu police station Kamlesh Kumar said the CRPF jawan even asked the TSPC sentry to surrender but the TSPC resorted to the indiscriminate firing which was equally retaliated by the combine security forces of the Manatu police station and the CRPF.
Kamlesh Kumar said the combined security forces fired 70 rounds while the TSPC too used weapons like Ak 47 and SLR quite indiscriminately as the security forces have recovered empty cartridges for these two weapons Ak 47 and SLR.
Difficult terrain and fog helped the TSPC escape. There is no injury / loss in the camp of the combined security forces. Similarly there has come no claim either for inflicting injury etc to the naxal TSPC contingent.
