Following announcement of municipal elections, Garhwa Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Pradeep Kumar has imposed prohibitions under Section-144 of the Criminal Procedure Code in the municipal council area.
The SDO said that after the announcement of election, there has been an unprecedented increase in the activity from the probable candidates for the municipal elections.
"Due to political rivalry, there is possibility of the violation of Model Code of Conduct implemented by the State Election Commission, as well as anti social elements may attempt to obstruct the process the election. To prevent any unpleasant event prohibition order under section of 144 CrPC has been imposed till April 21,2018," he added.
