Bermo Sub-Divisional Officer Prem Ranjan directed all BDOs, COs and all Officers-in Charge to categorise polling booths in four segments in a meeting held here on Tuesday. The meeting was convened at Tenughat Sub Divisional office over the security arrangements to ensure free and fair general election.
The SDO said that the segments are Super sensitive, Sensitive, Low sensitive and normal. Based on the category of a polling booth, the decision on deployment of security personnel will be taken. The Officers in-Charge have to submit reports of their respective areas to the SDO office at the earliest. An official communiqué stated that key issues related to poll preparedness such as EVM preparation, security management, electoral rolls, polling station arrangements, voter education and other resources, among others were discussed in the meeting. The SDM also reviewed the status of vulnerability mapping, security planning, availability of police forces and their requirement in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
