Supreme Court’s recent verdict stating that All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approval is not mandatory for Master in Computer Application (MCA) and Master in Business Administration (MBA) courses was a topic of prime discussion among Ranchi Universities (RU) on Saturday. Other renowned management institutes specialist also participated.
Governing council member of All India Management Association (AIMA), National Executive Board Member of Association of Indian Management School (AIMS) and founder CEO of Imperial College Bangalore, Dr Hari Krishna Maram said, “It is good that now MBA and MCA institutions will not abide by the norms of AICTE. This will give these institutions a freedom to run their institutes on their own terms and condition”.
Chairperson of AIMS Aproova Palkar, raised a question about accepting this policy. She also discussed about the miss communication and confusion created by AICTE leading to low enrollments in MBA. President of AIMS, DY Patil stated that corporates do not recruit degrees, they notice competence. So the MBA and MBA aspirants must be aware that ultimately it is performance that counts. Deans and Directors from Jharkhand and Bihar also requested for a committee under the leadership of AIMS to approach the AITCE officials about CMT.
