Chief Minister Raghubar Das directed the officials to provide round-the-clock power supply to educational institutions and hospitals on Thursday. Das, while holding a review meeting at project building in Ranchi, also asked the officials change their work culture as their service was directly linked to the common man.“Power is a necessity for the common man. It inflicts a great impact on their day to day life. People related to the electricity department know what happens to a student when there was no power to an educational institution or to a patient in a hospital; hence they must ensure round the clock power supply to those places,” said Das.
The CM further added that people now will not have to contribute money among them any more to change transformers and poles of their areas as there will be no role of mediators in the electricity department, he added. People of the electricity board will now ensure that electrical materials like poles, transformers, wires etc reaches to your doorsteps using the contingency fund to pay the freight charges, he said. The CM also directed the concerned officials to take immediate action on increasing the financial powers of the concerned Managing Directors saying that no compromise will be done in case of quality of the electrical goods. Concerned GM will be held responsible for below standard electrical goods, said the CM.
Taking an emergency like situation into consideration, the CM directed to purchase of adequate number of transformers and also ensure that the electrical equipments and goods be stored at any safe place so that any consumer do not have to face any problem during the rainy seasons, said Das.Das talking to the officials coming from across the state asked them to share their best practices with each other so that best service could be provided to the consumers.Das further added that the staff and officials along with their demands could approach him directly on the basis of which action will be taken immediately but at any coast, indiscipline will not be tolerated by the State Government.
