With the motive ‘Children are gift of god’, State Bank of India (SBI) Ranchi Mahila Samiti members distributed lactogen, Cerelac, Biscuits and one steel almirah for 47 infants of Nirmal Shishu Bhavan. Most of the children are below the age of 6 months here.
Sister Jivana, incharge of this orphan home said, “Children who are delivered by unwed mothers or abandoned parents are dropped at our shelter. The Child Welfare Community usually helps us in managing these orphan children.
For a certain period of time, we even give the chance of taking back their offsprings. This year around 4 children were taken back. Many couples adopt our children following the process of adoption paper work.”
SBI Mahila Samiti was established in 1994 and with only 20 members, is devoted to charitable development of the city. This was the second time the members approached this particular home to grant help.
SBI Patna regional area Chief General Manager’s wife Aparna Jivan Das, the guest of honour gave the children eateries to Sister Jivana on this occasion. This kind of humane effort is a monthly affair of this ladies wing. The entire funding of this samiti is done by the 20 member SBI officer wives. The bank supports the samiti in case of technical contribution like computer or vehicles.
Samiti Vice President Meera Rana and members including Namrata Singh, Rashmi Verma, Chitra Dikshit and Sudeepa Samanta were present here. SBI General Manager’s wives Madhuchanda Das and Soma Bhattacharya also accompanied them.
