BJP candidate Satyendra Nath Tiwari won the Assembly seat from Garhwa while Nav Jawan Sangharsh Morcha candidate Bhanu Pratap Shahi won the Bhawanathpur Assembly seat. Satyendra Nath Tiwari beat his near rival Girinath Singh with a margin of 21,337 votes. Tiwari gain 74,331 votes while Singh bags only 52,994 votes. JMM candidate Mithlesh Thakur received third position after gaining of 47,069 votes. 2,01,519 peoples exercise their votes in Garhwa Assembly segment. While Bhanu Pratap Shahi win the Bhawnathpur seat to beat BJP candidate Anant Pratap Deo with a close margin of 2,674 votes. Shahi gained 58,874 votes while Anant bags 56,200 votes.
