Chief Minister Raghubar Das has said that Sarna and Sanatan dharma are reciprocal and complementary to each other and cannot exist in isolation. The CM said this while addressing tribals at a programme organised by Kuduk Sarna Jagran Manch at Adandpur block of West Singhbhum on Sunday.

“Sarna and Sanatan dharma are complementary to each other and cannot be said complete in isolation. Rituals of both are similar since the culture exists. We have to take care that no attack or conspiracy takes place on the culture and custom we have received from our forefathers,” said the CM particularly calling on youths in this regard.

The CM added that tribal society was there from the beginning and their members had been worshiping nature from time immemorial. “Karam festival spreads message of nature protection and conservation along with adopting good works so that we can make our life happy. This is also good for our country and the State,” said the CM.

He on the occasion also recalled contributions of Birsa Munda and Kartik Oraon who has started ‘ulgulan’ from the soils of Chaibasa for safeguarding ethnic culture and custom. “It is our moral responsibility that we follow the footsteps of Birsa Aba and the ideal set by him,” added Raghubar Das.

The CM said that in the next budget provisions would be made to build ‘Akhra’ for in all tribal dominated areas where people can celebrate their festivals and organise cultural activities. Talking of infrastructure facilities in the form of agriculture, irrigation, education, health, electricity, drinking water and roads, the CM said that lots of efforts had been made which would continue in future as well.

He also announced that steel plants would come up Manoharpur of Chaibasa and Chatra while Chaibasa would be developed like Ranchi in the next two years. BJP State president and local MP laxman Gilua also stressed on identical worship methods of Kuduk-Ho and their love for nature. The MP said that more and more efforts were needed to stop migration and making youths skilled. Manoharpur MlA Joba Manjhi and other local leaders were also present on the occasion.
