Former Minister Yogendra Sao, whom the Hazaribagh police had served a notice to appear before them on Monday at 10 am, did not turn up for questioning. He sent a petition seeking more time, instead.

On Monday morning, when every eye was towards the SP’s office where police officers were ready to question Sao on his alleged links with extremists and about the formation of an ultra group called Jharkhand Tiger Force, the advocate of Yogendra Sao came with a petition and handed it over to SP Manoj Kaushik.

later it was informed by police that Sao has sent a time petition in which he has stated that due to his pre-scheduled programmes he was unable to come to the SP office on Monday at 10 am. He requested to give another time.

Sources though informed that Sao will appear before Hazaribagh police on Tuesday. Since last two days, Sao is in contact with his legal advisers who are giving him tips about what to accept and what to deny.

Meanwhile, on Monday the Hazaribagh police presented another member of the Jharkhand Tiger Force, Sandeep Sao, before the Magistrate where his confessional statement under Section 164 was recorded. Sandeep was taken on remand with one Rajkumar Gupta last Friday.

In his confessional statement Sandeep too has said about the relationship of their group with MlA Barkagaon Yogendra Sao.

An official said that they were also trying to nab Dheerendra Sao, brother of Yogendra Sao, and a nephew of Yogendra Sao about whom both Rajkumar Gupta and Sandeep Sao have said many things in their confessional statements.
