BJP State president Laxman Gilua on Sunday said that Santhal is a BJP stronghold and JMM has become number two party here. Even today, BJP has the largest number of MLAs in Santhal. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is behind the BJP in Santhal in terms of the number of MLAs and the number of activists, he said. Likewise, the JMM bosses have also proved themselves to be number two, he added. He further said, “The people of Santhal have even rejected the leaders in whose name JMM ask for votes. This is the reason behind both Shibu Soren and his son Hemant Soren has suffered defeat here. That fear of defeat is still in Hemant Soren's mind, so he is contesting from two places.”
The BJP state president claimed that JMM has kept the people of Santhal in confusion for a long time. “The Soren family used Santhal's wealth to increase their family's prosperity. They looted Santhal and erected their palace. The Soren family violated the CNT SPT Act grabbing the land of tribals in Ranchi and other cities,” he added.
The BJP leader claimed that when they (JMM) were in power, they never look towards Santhal. JMM never tried for providing employment in Santhal region, progress in education, construction of roads, provisions of electricity. They knew that if people are educated, if youths are employed people would never look towards them.
Gilua said that the Santhali people have realized how a family took political advantage in its own interest just by raising emotions. This is the reason why the people of Santhal have rejected the dynasty of the Soren family.
Meanwhile, BJP state vice-president Hemlal Murmu highlighting the infrastructure development in Santhal Pargana said that the region has witness infrastructure development communication in road, rail and waterways. Due to this, there has been a lot of improvement in the transport sector in the Santhal region.
He said that earlier it used to take much time to reach Deoghar, Dumka or other remote areas of Santhal from Ranchi. The condition of roads was also very bad. But now the condition of roads has become much better. The operation of the new train has been started.
