The sandalwood thieves active in Hazaribagh district since last so many years once again tried to steal the sandalwood tree situated on the premises of DFO Rajeev Ranjan’s quarter. On Monday night the thieves entered into the premises and cut down the tree though the family members and guard were in the quarter. The guard woke up with the sound of felling down of the tree so the thieves failed to take away it but the attempt once again proved that regular failure of Hazaribagh police in tracing them out has boosted their courage. DFO’s quarter is in the area where the quarters of almost all senior district officials are situated.
