SCOPE organised the National Rounds of the first ever SCOPE Business Quiz Bonanza 2014-15 for the employees of public sector enterprises here on Wednesday. Chief Guest KD Tripathi, IAS, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises presented trophies and prizes to the winners in the presence of CS Verma, Chairman, SCOPE and Chairman, SAIl, Dr UD Choubey, Director General, SCOPE and Ashok K Pavadia, IAS, Joint Secretary, DPE.
NTPC Team comprising KM Prashanth and Sanjib Dutta emerged as National Winners and received the Gold trophy and one lakh rupees cash prize. The Joint National Runners-Up - SAIl Bokaro Steel Plant and BPCl - were awarded trophies and Rs. 25,000/- cash prize each.
KD Tripathi, Secretary, DPE congratulated SCOPE for taking this noble initiative for public sector executives. He said that in today's world, knowledge is ultimate and companies who do not keep pace with the knowledge and technology can not survive.
CS Verma, Chairman, SCOPE and Chairman, SAIl said that SCOPE Business Quiz Bonanza will help PSE managers to compete with the best in the country and demonstrate their competence.
Dr UD Choubey, Director General, SCOPE said SCOPE Business Quiz will increase a sense of competition among employees of PSEs which will also enhance the knowledge and l motivate them. He informed that SCOPE Quiz will be held every year.
The National Finalists teams were from NTPC, SAIl Bokaro Steel Plant, BPCl, IOCl, FACT, NAlCO, and RBI. Earlier, four regional rounds were held at New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru in which 150 teams from various PSEs participated.
The National Finals of the SCOPE Quiz were conducted by V Kumar and SPS Jaggi of SAIl Bhilai Steel Plant. The Regional Round Quiz Masters were Sanjay Upadhyay and Saurabh Sinha from SAIl, Deepak Taneja from IOCl, Uttam lal and Chandan Shahi from NTPC.
The SCOPE Business Quiz Bonanza helps public sector managers develop their knowledge and awareness regarding business developments, new management concepts and innovative practices.
