Steel Authority of India limited SAIl's chairman CS Verma adjudged with the 'CEO of the Year' at the 2014 Platts Global Metals Awards.
In a glittering function Verma received the award in london on Wednesday where more than 200 industry executives attended, Bokaro Steel Plant's officials informed on Monday. "Verma was awarded for a comprehensive leadership style that has resulted in financial success of the country's largest steel-producing company. The winners of this year's awards excelled despite a continued climate of economic uncertainty, overcoming challenges such as oversupply, price volatility and increased competition", added the official.
The Platts Awards, now in their second year, recognize exemplary performance in a dozen categories spanning the steel, metals and mining.
