Steel Authority of India (SAIl) swept the Vishwakarma Rashtriya Awards this year, at a glittering ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan on Wednesday. Eighty eight out of the 118 awardees for performance year 2011 were from SAIl and were felicitated by the Union Minister for labour & Employment.
"It is a matter of pride for all of us that 76 per cent of awardees who have been awarded are from SAIl," said SAIl chairman CS Verma at a felicitation ceremony organised at SCOPE Complex in Delhi.
Estimated annual savings resulting from implementation of work mentioned in SAIl's award-winning projects are over Rs 75 crore on a recurring basis and Rs 210 crore on a one-time basis.Feted employees were from steel plants in Bhilai, Bokaro, Rourkela, Durgapur and Salem.
