The political leaders mind right now must be buzzing with campaign, poll outcome, alliance and formation of government. They might be in a fix thinking about their next move, but the young female voters are not when it comes to electing their representatives. Women’s College students are clear on what they expect from the contesting candidates.

As the polling date of the upcoming general election is coming closer the first-time female voters of Ranchi parliamentary constituency are waiting with their wish list for the contesting candidates. Safety and security of fairer sex has given the top most priority in the list. Women’s College Commerce Department Part-II student Anjali Keshri throwing lights on her demands said, “The increasing cases of crime against women in the city is a matter of deep concern for us. We want a secure place to live in. Many students fear even to commute in day light.

My vote will be for the candidate who will provide a secure environment to live.”The back to back incidents of manhandling within the college premises have shook the students to the core. Despite administrations repeated assurance the students have to face problem within and outside the premises.

“The past incidents within the city have pointed fingers on the administration over security measures. I would like to draw the attention of contesting candidates towards the pathetic security measures in our state capital,” opined Kalyani Kumar.

Besides safety another major issues cornering the girl student is recruitment of efficient staffs in the institutions. “The government should emphasis on quality education rather than increasing the number of institutions. Staff crunch in many colleges is affecting the student’s education to a great extent. The upcoming government should ensure staff recruitment rather than blame promises,” added Smiriti Dutta.

Echoing her, another student Priya Agrawal said, “Many students fail to prove their potential due to lack of resources. In our college many department require recruitment of efficient staffs. I will appeal from the contesting candidates to have a look on the actual problems of the students and make efforts to find a concrete solution for the future generation.” However, the students have also demanded to lay emphasis on the vocational courses as it will open new avenues in the direction of self-employment for the students.
