DIG Suman Gupta inspected the Sadar Police Station and inspector office situated in the campus as per her fixed programme. She found everything mismanaged there and no one was in a position to satisfy her with their progress reports.
Disappointed DIG Gupta criticised the working pattern of both inspector and officer in-charges of Sadar, Muffasil and Ichak Police Stations and ordered them to reply within five days why not departmental proceedings should be initiated against them.
During inspection when DIG Gupta started to check the files dumped at inspector office she found that more than thousand files were pending, out of which three hundred belongs to the period of present inspector AS Samshi. She found that the police have taken more than six months time to submit enquiry reports of incidents which took place within one or two kilometer diameter of the police station.
DIG also found that inspector never reviewed the progress with the Officer In-Charges. When she asked about it, inspector replied that no one cares his instruction here. He also said that he tried to convene review meeting several times but no one turned up. DIG found that the OICs are escaping from investigation and in majority of cases they use to make junior officers the IO of the case.
It also came to the notice of DIG that last year SP inspected the Sadar police station and had given several instructions, but till date not a single instruction was obeyed by the police stations.
She also visited the women police station which is in the campus and saw the bad condition. She instructed the officers to arrange some more facilities for the women police station and to make proposal for the repairing of the building.
After this inspection programme, she flagged off five white bikes of police department which will keep help the police officers in keeping eyes on the eve teasers of the town. These bikes are well-equipped to control the emmergency situations. Control room contact details are written in bold on these bikes.
SP Manoj Kaushik said that the cops on white bikes will roam near the schools and colleges whole day and very soon we are going to add seven more such bikes with cops who will roam into the streets of Hazaribagh town to keep close eyes on goons and eve teasers.
