Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sadar) Vikas Chandra Srivastava urged his subordinates to build better connections between police force and public. He was briefing Tiger Mobile patrolling units and Beat Officers at Bariatu police station about measures to check crime rates on Sunday.
Srivastava asked the motorcycle-ridden patrolling units and Beat Officers to visit people living in their beats and provide them with their contact numbers. The police officers were asked to build trust for themselves in the minds of the people of their respective areas.
“There exists a communication gap between police and public, which is why crimes cannot be prevented despite consistent efforts by the former,” Srivastava said.
He ordered the police officials to conduct rigorous patrols in their areas covering as much as possible. They were ordered to strictly enquire any suspicious gatherings or shady characters when they come across them.
