Hazaribagh Police have arrested Pradumna Sharma, a member of Special Area Committee of CPI (Maoist) from Kotha Dumar Bukar forest of Chauparan. He had a bounty of Rs 25,000,00 on his head. This reward was announced by the Jharkhand government on him,while the Bihar government had also placed a reward of Rs 50,000 on him.
SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe said in a press conference that told in the press conference that secret information was received that senior commander Praduman Sharma, along with his squad members, is traveling in the wild area of Dasi Karma Kothon Bukad, Garamorwa Pathalgadwa. A police team was formed on this information. The team launched a search operation. During the search operation, the police got sight of two militants coming down from Kotha Dunmar mountain.
Both people started running after seeing the police team. In order to escape, one person was chased and caught by the police party while one person managed to escape by taking advantage of the forest. When asked about the name, address and escape from the arrested person, he first tried to mislead then later revealing that his name is Praduman Sharma alias Kundan alias Saket alias Lulha. He is a resident of Rustampur village, under Hulasganj police station area of Jehanabad district in Bihar.
The SP said that Praduman Sharma is a key member of BJSEC. He is the most important commander of the Magadh Zone. He has been involved in important conferences of Eastern Regional Bureau and BJSEC. The SP said that Sharma has also been on the post of Inspector in BSF. He holds a BA degree in Philosophy. He left the job after some problem at home during training. He speaks pure Hindi, understands English easily.
Praduman Sharma entered in 1996 as an active member of CPI-Maoist extremist organization. It has been involved in many Naxalite incidents in Magadh Zone. More than 90 cases are registered in Magadha zone in Bihar and Jharkhand. His arrest will lower the morale of the militants and their economic system will also be weakened.
The SP said that 3 Naxalite cases are registered against Praduman Sharma in different police stations of Hazaribagh district in which he has been wanted.
