Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) General Secretary and Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya, on Friday, said in press meet organised at the party headquarter that an important meeting called on Saturday to discuss on the situation of prevailing drought like situation in the State in which all MLAs and Ministers of ruling alliance will be participated.
Bhattacharya said that due to the irregularity of monsoon in Jharkhand, the situation of drought has arisen. “How the Centre behaves in this dreadful situation of drought will be discussed in the UPA meeting. What will be the stand of the Grand Alliance Government on the stand of the Centre, it is also a matter of discussion. We will see how the Central Government helps. In other states everything works immediately but in our State things take time to arrive,” he added.
Regarding the political stir in Jharkhand, the party General Secretary said that since December 29, 2019, that is, since the Government was formed in Jharkhand, it has been brought down every day. “Meanwhile, 4 by-elections have been held in the State. The Bharatiya Janata Party said every time that the result would come. The Government will fall on the second day itself. I want to ask the colleagues of BJP how many times the Government will be brought down. The conspiracy to topple the Government has also been exposed. The residence of the Press Advisor to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was raided,” he added.
Bhattacharya also made a big statement on the Bilkis Bano episode of Gujarat. He targeted the Centre and the Gujarat Government over this. He said that the convicts of Bilkis Bano were released. “The convicts were welcomed with flowers and garlands. The Gujarat Government argued that the convicts were released under legal provisions, while the Supreme Court had held that the case falls in the rarest of rare category. Those convicted of rioting, rape and heinous murder cannot get release under these provisions,” he added.
Bhattacharya said that the punishment of rioters, rapists and murderers has been waived. In the Country, a deal was done to protect the mother and sisters. Which direction are we going?
The Part Spokesperson said that the issue is very serious. I would like the central government to clear its stand on this and BJP should also clarify the situation. He said that the Prime Minister is not a person but an institution and when an institution says something, it is very important for the Country. “BJP should learn from Chief Minister Hemant Soren as to what is the value of talking about an institution as Chief Minister. Land is our mother. The Chief Minister took a pledge to protect it and is also fulfilling it,” he added.
