RTPCR test for Coronavirus would be stepped up in the Viral research and diagnostic lab set up in the Medinirai Medical College at Pokhraha. Sources said it was almost put off in this lab for over a week causing pendency of the test of a few thousand samples of the naso pharyngeal swabs.
Deputy commissioner Palamu Shashi Ranjan conceded there were some issues here in this lab that had hit the RT PCR test for over a week or so but he hastened to add the issues are over and this lab has to speed up the test by all means.
The Pioneer found out two issues hitting this lab here in the Medininirai medical college at Pokhraha.
First scarcity of the consumables and reagent and this lab had had this 'scarcity in plenty '.
Sources said this scarcity of the consumables here hit the RT PCR test for the Coronavirus in this lab too badly.
Principal of the Medininirai medical college at Pokhraha Dr J R Prasad said there remained non availability of the consumables and reagents here in this viral research and diagnostic lab for days together but now he was told of the arrival of the same here and thus RT PCR test for Coronavirus will gain speed here in this lab.
DC Palamau Shashi Ranjan too had said about the non availability of the consumables here in this lab causing huge pendency of the testing and the DC like
the principal Dr Prasad has reiterated that consumables have arrived here and RT PCR test will be done in full swing now.
The second issue that had gripped this lab here is linked to its MoU with the Jharkhand state medical and health infrastructure development and procurement corporation limited Namkum.
Sources said this lab here in Palamu and one each of this kind in two more new medical colleges namely at Dumka and Hazaribag are cautiously looking forward towards the extension of the MoU and this uncertainty too had had its adverse bearings upon the pace of the RT PCR test in this lab here.
DC Shashi Ranjan said he could only say this issue is there and nothing more from his side.
Similar comment was from the principal Dr Prasad who said he too had heard of it but he is not fit to make any more elaboration on it.
