RS Sharma assumed charge as new Chief Secretary of Jharkhand on Sunday. Counting on his priorities, Sharma said use of information technology was essential in order to strengthen the delivery system and enhance transparency in administration.
Sharma stated, “Progress of work will speed up if it is done with team spirit and execution also becomes easy. The team here in Jharkhand is very efficient and it will ensure effective implementation of Government policies.”
“Meaningful discourse between the Government, media and public is imperative for development. It calls for strengthening of institutional interface,” he added.
Several senior officials — including outgoing Chief Secretary SK Chaudhary, Principal Secretary (Cabinet & Coordination) NN Pandey, Principal Secretary (Home) JB Tubid, Road Construction Principal Secretary Rajbala Verma and others were present.
Sharma is an IAS officer of 1978 batch from Jharkhand cadre. Before being appointed as the State Chief Secretary, he held the position of Director General of UIDAI.
