On Monday, two miscreants looted Rs 7.5 lakh from a businessman, Pratap Jain, at gun point at about 10 in the morning. It all happened within minutes and the miscreants fled from the site walking easily without any resistance.

Prabal Jain, the son of Pratap Jain, said that he along with his father came down from his house at about 10am to go to the office of their agency situated near court campus of the town.He went towards the garage to take the car out. In the meantime ,a miscreant who was hiding their behind the generator set, came out suddenly and took me  at pistol point. He snatched the bag from my hand and fled  from his house. It all happened so quickly that I and my father remained stunned as spectators only.

Pratap Jain, who is theowner of four petrol pumps, said that there was 7.5 lakhs rupees in the bag which was the collection of petrol pumps of Saturday evening and Sunday because the banks were closed. We were carrying that amount in the bag as usual and the aim was to get the amount deposited in the account.

Some of the eye- witnesses said that one miscreant was waiting outside the house and as his ally came out with bag. both walked away easily towards the Kasai mohallah of the town. The house of Pratap Jain is situated near Jain Dharamshala of Bara Bazar from where a connecting lane between Bara Bazar and Kasai mohallah is also situated. The eye witnesses said that the face of both miscreants was covered by towel.

After getting information police officials and jawan came and started investigation. They saw a CCTV camera fitted outside Jain dharamshala but when examined, it was found that the wires were already disconnected. It seems that the miscreants had planned this loot properly and had cut the wires of the CCTV camera.
