The residents of municipal areas have not paid their water tax to the corporation office since 2015. The numbers of legal connection holders are 5400. The corporation has issued so many time notice to the water holding tax payers for the payment of arrear amount, but the residents are not paying their attention towards the notice of the corporation.
According to sources at the corporation office 26000 houses are registered in the list of corporation. Among the 26000 houses 5400 houses have taken the water connection facilities of the corporation.
A customer has to pay only 135 rupees per month as water tax. The consumers have not paid this amount since January 2015 to the corporation. The corporation has given the facilities to their water consumers not to pay the arrear amount.
After this announcement the water tax holders have paid their interest to regularise the payment of the water tax. Official sources said that more than eight thousand water connection are illegal in the municipal areas.
After the restructured the municipal areas 6 wards was newly raised by the state government. At present 32 wards in the municipal areas of the Hazaribag town.
Sources said that the corporation has to pay the maintenance amount per month to the water and sanitation department. The department has given this work to the out sourcing company.
