In a thirst to increase cash inflow in revenue-starved Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA), chairman Parama Singh on Wednesday made a visit to Ambedkar Nagar under Namkom Police Station with Members Manoj Pandey and Rajeev Ranjan and other officials.

After inspection, Singh said that around 90 per cent of the houses in the area were illegally constructed, which remained on the verge of demolition if these building plans and maps were not got passed through RRDA within a month.

“More than 90 per cent of individual houses and apartments have been constructed in the area without getting their maps passed from RRDA. This is a crime and we are not here to tolerate it for long. They have been warned earlier also. Now we have given 15 days time for individual houses and 30 days time to apartment buildings with more than ground plus one height. They will be charged penalty of `1,000 per square feet and face demolition drive if failed to do so within time,” said Singh.
