Roy sees no response on letter to CS

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Saryu Roy expressed his anguish that no follow up action has been taken against his letter sent to the Government top brass highlighting issues at hand.

The senior Minister in the Raghubar Das headed Government had in the last month written to Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, within a month after he had taken over charge from Rajbala Verma, alleging systemic collapse taking place into the affairs which had been averse of the Constitutional provisions.

“I had sent the letter addressed to the Chief Secretary about a month ago. To me so far no response is seen. I have no information about this what so ever. This is frustrating but that is it,” responded the Minister when contacted for his reaction on Monday.

Roy while shooting off the letter raised pertinent questions concerning the Government. Through in his latest communication he had called attention of the Chief Secretary about alleged syndication taken place inside the system affecting its efficiency.

“There are several examples. I in my letter had named even some Departments where a particular official is posted for fairly long period. Some officials have no work while there are some who are overloaded with works! I had said that system should be strengthened and not weakened. Anyone can form a system, make improvements into it and can even destroy it but he cannot be an alternate of the system,” reiterated the Minister.

He also indicated the syndicate was costing dearly to the State in the form of revenue and the trend was continuing for last over two years. “This is happening from fairly long time but no action was taken in the past.

The incumbent Chief Secretary would have become aware about this since he has spent sufficient time there. I expect him to take a call and work to improve the system in place before it is too late,” added Roy.

The Minister has been vocal against functioning of his own Government and raised objections in the past, especially against retired Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma for her alleged role in the Fodder scam cases and several others.
