The ongoing controversy over demolition of the housing property of film actress Kangana Ranaut by BMC in Mumbai has surcharged politics of Jharkhand also after former minister and Jamshedpur (East) MLA Saryu Roy and State Drinking Water and Sanitation minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur aired their views.
The demolition is largely seen as a fall out of the ongoing investigation of the suspicious death of film actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in which Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for possessing and purchasing prohibited drugs. Ranaut had claimed that a powerful drug cartel is controlling the film industry.
Roy was first to criticize the action and demanded President’s rule in Maharashtra. A day back Roy who is active and vocal on social sites posted on his Twitter handle that mafias and ruffians are ruling the roost in Mumbai.
“The way BMC demolished the house of Kangana Ranaut it seems that there is none to save the Constitution. President’s Rule should be imposed in Maharashtra,” Roy commented.
Roy also said that there is a deep nexus between the drug cartel and Mumbai film industry and this is time to boycott them. His tweet soon became viral with around 16000 likes and 5485 re-tweets.
About three days back Thakur too had shared a picture of Rhea Chakraborty haunted by electronic media while emerging out of interrogation of NCB.
Thakur expressed displeasure over the media trial and asked whether the media is forcing another suicide. Minister also wished the Prime Minister and Home minister for some kind of media regulation. However, the minister was just expressing his view over self-discipline media requires but his benign opinion did not attract any favourable comment.
RP Sahi who is a prominent member of Jharkhand Civil Society reminded the minister should focus upon his duty as minister instead of wasting time in a matter, which is not connected with Jharkhand. Almost all users asked the minister to improve his performance and fulfil the aspirations of people rather than talking about what is happening in Maharashtra.
