Roads in latehar under night police patrol for cash of Maoists

Published on:

latehar police have stepped up its night patrol on Saryu road and Balumah road all for cash trapping said sources.

Badly hit Maoists who have stashed cash by way of extortion and levy are too desperate for its replacement or for its deposit in their hard core supporters accounts.

A naxal watcher told the Pioneer ' The whole energy and strategy of the Maoists right now is to save their huge stash of invalid notes rather than to go after the security forces'.

This watcher further said ' Worse is the condition of the small cadres of the Maoists who earned their wages by carrying their logistics and weapon like gun and ammunition'.

This watcher further said the plights of women cadres in the Maoists' organisations are far more worse as they find it hard to locate any suitable boy to dispose of their cash!

Sources said SP latehar Anoop BIrtharey has asked police stations and forward security posts to be alert for naxals' cash.

DSP latehar Purshottam Kumar Singh confirmed that Saryu road and Balumath Chandwa road are under police patrol at night for any possible transit of naxals' cash

He said a few houses belonging to hard core supporters of Maoists at Moorpa under Balumath police station and loharssi under Chandwa police station have been searched for cash and any inflation of their Jan Dhan accounts.

On being asked as to why these two roads are so under the watch of the police DSP Singh said Saryu has had its own notoriety and Balumath and Chandwa too do not lag behind in the notoriety for extremism.

The poor have Jan Dhan accounts and the Maoists are eyeing it with lust and greed to pump in their cash there to which Purshottam said ' We are conscious of it. Our SP Birtharey has given us clear cut directive to keep eyes on Jan Dhan accounts whether these accounts are idle or have abruptly got hyper active'

.Purshottam said SP and his team have identified some hard core supporters of Maoists where the Maoists can pool in their cash. He did not rule out that banks too would  not be asked to give details of heavy deposits coming to them.

Sources said police pressure is high every where in this range from latehar to Palamu to Garhwa making it most difficult for the Maoists to exchange their invalid heap of notes.

Sources said purchase of house/land has come to a standstill here for the simple reason of how to consume the invalid notes of 500 and 1,000 denomination.
