RMC to use software for clearing maps

Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) will soon use software named ‘Soft Tech’ for passing the maps of buildings. This automatic mode will fasten the process and complete the same within a month. Civic Body authorities agreed to execute the mode during a presentation of the software usage on Friday.

“We will execute the decision after receiving a green signal in the Board meeting scheduled on August 12. The server for the software set up within RMC will eliminate the long term manual effort,” Mayor Asha lakra said.

Notably, the software is already being used in 49 municipal corporations including Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.

Highlighting the benefits of Soft Tech, Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargiya said, “It will create transparency in maintaining the accurate data of the building as well as the land whose map is to be passed.”

Soft Tech Vice President-Sales Surajit Bhattacharya who made the presentation informed that documents and rules required for map submission can be downloaded from the software. “Architects can submit the drawing plans. The software will check whether it is correct or not. Accordingly, the report of map will be passed. With such efforts, technical officials like town planners will not have to spare an extra time for checking the maps,” said Bhattacharya.

He added, “Corporation’s role in ensuring a hassle free lAN has a pivotal role for the software set up.”

Councillors of 55 wards expressed their desire to understand the details of the software. Meanwhile, the meeting on Master Plan 2037 failed to please the corporation members. Feedback Infra Private limited is working on the layout of the Master Plan.

Stressing on the faults in the lay-out, RMC members proposed the private company members to prepare the Master Plan in two parts comprising urban and rural areas.

The presentation suggests 40 per cent open space within the city which according to the present structure of Ranchi is not possible. 80 percent space of the city is overflowing.

To manage the 40 percent, the private company members have suggested acquisition over the land adjoining Ring road. As per Chota Nagpur Tenancy (CNT) Act or Santhal Pargana Tenancy (SPT) Act, corporation cannot posses a tribal land besides land area covered under its 55 wards.

Permission of Zila Parishad and Ranchi Regional Development Authority is important for acquisition over such rural land.
