After getting a bunch of grievances from ward councillors regarding illegal deep boring, encroachment and other irregularities at different wards, Municipal Commissioner, Shantanu Kumar Agrahari has assured that city enforcement teams will be strengthened within a month to tackle the irregularities.

During the Board meeting here on Monday, quite a number of ward councillors complained about the deep boring issue and besides the elected representatives. Now, nine city enforcement teams will be formed for keeping a tab on illicit activities. Besides seizing vehicles from no parking zones, the teams will nab all those people responsible for breaching the HYDT norms. Conducting regular encroachment drive and imposing penalty upon a person including an entity will also be the top priority of the enforcement squad.

“The enforcement team will lend their services in different shifts. Four teams will conduct drive in the morning shift while other 4 squads will be vigilant in the evening. One team will be active during the late night hours as well. The enforcement team will be on toe round the clock, lending the service 24x7. Grievances number system will be started soon to address different civic issues,” said, the Municipal Commissioner.

Meanwhile, ward councilors have also demanded to blacklist Gnostic Solution, a Bengaluru based firm, currently managing the parking services at MG Road. Due to the high rate and unruly behavior of the employees, the councilors have raised the demand. Mayor Asha lakra during the meeting with the Gnostic Solution Head, Ajay Kumar had instructed the company owner to streamline the parking service before June.

Notably, police verification of all staffs appointed by the company involved in managing service was made mandatory by the civic body. Besides this, all the staffs deployed at parking zones have to keep proper identity cards. No staffs of the concerned firm can issue parking receipts to the vehicle owners without having proper identity cards. The company was also instructed to keep all seized vehicle from no parking zone at Bakri Bazaar.

However, the officials have clarified that they need to follow a procedure before blacklisting the company. The company will be given a short show cause notice. If in a given period, it fails to satisfy the terms and conditions as per the agreement made by the Municipal Corporation, only then any further action can be taken against the concerned firm. Similarly, clarifying the stance on the sewerage drainage project, similar action will be taken against Jyoti Build Tech Pvt. ltd who has been lingering the construction work since long.

Besides all grievances, the Board members have given its approval on starting a ‘Smart Toilet’ project at few demarcated places in municipal area. Interestingly, from automatic doors to cleanliness tasks, the entire system will be fully mechanized with the aim to conserve water and ensure cleanliness. As many as five toilets will be installed in the first phase.
