To bring transparency and fastening the approval work of building plan, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) will introduce an online system for approval of building plans by the end of this month.
The announcement was made by Mayor Asha lakra in a meeting which was attended by Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargia, CEO Manoj Kumar, Town planning officials and all engineers at RMC on Tuesday.
Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargia sharing the information said, “The basic objective behind making the procedure online is to bring more transparency and fast approval of the plans. We have already designed the software and after testing it the system will be made operational.”
According to RMC norms it should take only 45 days to approve the plan but the process usually take much time. Moreover, numerous clarifications are being demanded before clearing a proposal.
According to RMC officials the software will accept only those proposals which will be submitted with complete necessary documents.
However, the builders and architects have to submit hard copies of documents required for the approval of a building plan even after submitting the proposal online.
Informing about the benefits of the system RMC CEO Manoj Kumar said, “The system will help the officials to see all the plans along with their status on time. The plan will get approval on first cum first serve basis.”
Meanwhile, Town Planner Gajanan Ram has shown his happiness over the decision and has termed it a good initiative. He said, “The online system will simplify and speed up the work. Every year we get on an average around 1,200- 1,500 building plans for approval. Now the project will not get delay.”
Besides, RMC is all set to get five low floor AC buses from Tata Motors by the end of this month.
The buses are purchased at a cost of Rs 57, 39,000. The corporation will hand over a cheque of Rs 2,86,05,000 to the company within a week.
“All the formalities have been completed. The buses are expected to hit the roads by next month,” added Kumar.
