To attract devotees this year too, Ranchi railway station Durga puja pandal committee has come up with an attractive theme. The entire pandal is being decorated in Rajasthani style to give ethnic feel to the concept.
Since decades the railway station Durga puja pandal is grabbing the attention of several visitors with its vivid and colourful themes.
Citing details about the theme and preparation, pandal in-charge and caretaker, Dibabrata Dutta said, “This year we have to depict earthy Rajasthani culture and for this the preparation is going on since past three months. Moreover, this year we have brought the effigy of Goddess Durga from Kolkata and the unique feature about sculpt is the dress worn by the Goddess. Goddess is draped in Rajasthani dress with traditional jewelry.”
“We have also arranged 2000 Rajasthani style miniature statues of men and women illustrating Rajasthani technique and lifestyle. These models will be placed at various places inside the pandal and will also enhance the interior décor of the pandal,” Dutta further said.
like every year, in most cases for the auspicious occasion of Durga puja artisans come from Kolkata and adjoining areas to give shape to the puja pandals.
Same is the case with Ranchi railway station Durga puja pandal, for creating a Rajasthani model; artisans from Kolkata are engaged in giving shape to one of the most preferred pandals destination.
“This year again we have artists from Dumdum, Kolkata and they are giving final touch to the pandal. Infact, 22 workers are toiling to give aesthetic touch to the puja pandal and bring the real essence of Rajasthani lifestyle,” Dutta added.
Giving details about the budget and security issue Vice-President of Ranchi railway station Durga puja committee, Aashish Mishra said, “This year, approximately, our budget is `40 lakhs and most of the budget is focused on decoration which is a theme based conception. This time special light effects will mesmerize the visitors. So far as the security issue is concerned we have hired few volunteers to keep a check on the teeming crowd. Though we do not receive any support from administration but every year we successfully conduct Durga puja.”
