RJD organises workers meet at Daltonganj

The Rashtriya Janata Dal organised its workers meet here at Daltonganj’s Shivaji Maidan on Sunday.

Ram Kirpal Yadav the RJD in-charge of Bihar and lalu Prasad’s closest confidant reached Daltonganj by road and attended the meet. Ministers in the State Government Annapurna Devi and Suresh Paswan also attended the rally. The RJD State president Girinath Singh anchored the show. A former Maoist Keshwar Yadav alias Ranjanji brought in 50 vehicles all loaded with RJD supporters in this meet. The gathering was far more impressive than expected. Rural populace outnumbered the urbanites. The RJD meet gave a sense of equality when no chair was kept on the stage.

It was lalu Prasad who had had his single chair on stage but since he is behind the bars the RJD leaders showed their loyalty to him and put no chair not even for Cabinet Minister Annapurna Devi or RJD leader Ram Kirpal Yadav.

Sources said this is the first such meet of a regional party here where workers and leaders came in autorickshaws. The workers meet was to drive the point home here that lalu became a victim of conspiracy and the big and the powerful wanted to stifle and choke the voice of the poor. The speakers made emotional speeches more than political except that RJD would be again in its formidable style and position. lalu’s son Tejaswi and wife Rabri Devi were not chorused in this meet. It was all and all a show for lalu.

Those in the gathering who wanted to be updated on Patna where Narendra Modi addressed a huge rally in Gandhi Maidan which witnessed blasts did not leave this Shivaji Maidan and heard RJD leaders speeches with a vow to keep this party alive and kicking again. The RJD leaders chose Daltonganj with twin purposes. It was to assess its strength. And it found it is no longer any fragile here.
