Rising cases of burglary in high-rise apartments in coal city

Cases of burglary in high-rise apartments in coal city are on rise and now the burglars target flats in such buildings even during day time.

Two such incidents took place in-between 8 and 9 AM on Thursday in two different apartments within Dhanbad Sadar police station  area by the same set of burglars in which gold ornaments worth over Rs four lakh were stolen after breaking the steel almirah in both cases.

Interestingly, the burglars use names of important persons residing in the building  to enter the building  and commit crime .

In one such incident that took place at Signora City Tower they  posed themselves as electrical mechanics called by an income tax officer living in the building to check the AC machine. When allowed by the security guard they broke into the flat of a BCCL employee located on the fourth floor and committed the crime within fifteen minutes and escaped.

In a similar way another crime was committed in a flat located at Grawal colony.

Flat owner of Signora city tower Naveen Thakur said that he had left the building at 10 pm on Wednesday for some urgent personal work and the incident took place on Thursday morning .He returned on Friday and then reported to police. He also has provided CCTV footage of the entry and exit movements of two criminals  to police and has  filed a case with Sadar police station .

Records suggest that in the last four months criminals have targeted  ten such buildings  in the city area  but in none of the incidents  police have succeeded in apprehending criminals involved in those incidents.
