Amidst suspected threat of a third wave of Covid-19 and ongoing preparations to meet the challenge, cases of viral fever among kids is on the rise in the coal capital.
Records coming from the largest government hospital SNMMCH indicate that kids aged between 0 to 10 years are turning up in large numbers for treatment at Paediatrics outdoor of this hospital and those suffering from high fever along with cough and cold are being shifted to indoor ward of the hospital.
Records suggest that on Thursday all 44 beds of this ward were full with kids suffering from high fever. Few are on oxygen support too.
One of the senior treating doctors said most of the parents, when asked to get Covid test, flatly refused.
“We are taking utmost care of all who are here as per requirement of the patient,” he said.
