Governor Droupadi Murmu, who visited three institutions here in Palamu on Wednesday spoke more like a 'mother' than the first lady of the state as in her first speech that she made at the scheduled tribe girls hostel of K G High school she asked the girls not only to rise themselves but to help others to rise in their lives. Her punch word was to promote others, while developing self.
The Governor expressed her desire to physically inspect the rooms of the girls hostel which she did wherein many male officials too wanted to get in but were politely asked to keep away from inside of this girls hostel.
The Governor was very candid when she reminded if only some individuals become smart or model then no smart or model village can be built up. Smart or model village is built on the foundation of literacy and girls should come forward. Droupadi Murmu refused to acknowledge that there is any lack of merit or scholarship among the students of Jharkhand rather they have enormous potentialities but they are not exposed to opportunities for want of facilities.
Murmu visited KGBV hostel in Chainpur and Special School in Daltonganj also where she urged the students/inmates to be the writer of their fate and also to script the fate of the nation.
She stressed on the scope and widening of facilities like space where girls can pursue academic activity along with sports art and culture and other all round activities. She told the girls there may be economic constraints but they should not be 'man ki garib ' ( poor by mind or will) .
The Governor reached Chiyanki air strip by Aryan chopper around 9.49 and straight way drove down to scheduled tribe girls hostel. As one railway bridge is under construction the administration took her down to her first venue through NH 75 via Bairya More.
Sources said intimation of the Governor’s visit to the town was given to MPs and MlAs but there was none around in her programme in Daltonganj.
The Governor spent more than six minutes with VC A N Ojha, Pro VC Bijay Singh registrar Amar Singh and one Dean in the circuit house Daltonganj and took stock of the progress made in the land matter for the university.
DC Palamu Amit Kumar and SP Patel Mayur Kanhaiya lal over saw the entire arrangements for her excellency. Security arrangement was adequate but not obstructive as public traffic was halted for some few minutes at chowks only.
