State revenue department staffs, who are presently on strike for the last 21 days to press 11 point demands raised by them, have warned the State Government that they will intensify their agitation further if their demands were not met. The government on the other hand, has fixed a meeting of agitating workers with the minister on March 6 to resolve the issues raised by them.
“We have been compelled to go on strike as the government as promised in 2012, failed to make a separate cadre for revenue department,” said president of Jharkhand State Revenue Service Union Harendra Kumar Singh. The then Revenue Minister Mathura Mahto and Revenue Secretary NN Pandey had assured that a separate revenue cadre will be made as soon as possible but nothing was done in this regard, he added.
Singh further said that if State Government fails to resolve the issue, they will stage begging before the residences of Revenue Minister Amar Kumar Bauri, Revenue Secretary KK Soan, Finance Secretary Amit Khare and Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma on March 6, 9, 15 and 18 respectively.
The strike called by revenue workers has adversely affected the issuance of caste and domicile certificates which are pending across the State which may affect the aspirants who want to fill up the forms for the appointment of High School Teacher seeking reservations for them.
State Government on the other hand, has invited the agitating revenue staffs for talks on March 6 where issues will be discussed at large in the presence of Revenue Minister Amar Kumar Bauri.
“Our priority is to resolve the issue and come out of this situation as ultimately people have to suffer hence we have called them on March 6 for talks to discuss the matter together along with the Revenue Minister,” said Revenue Secretary KK Soan.
