The retreating CPI Maoists are leaving behind a trail of craters caused by land mines explosions in latehar district. Three craters on December 9 when first went off a land mine on NH 75. Again on December 11 there was one crater caused. Sources said these craters are a grim reminder that it is the Maoists who are in control of making or marring the peace in Jharkhand.
The craters are in fact the signpost of the Maoists as the dung is of t elephant and scat of a tiger that suggests the wild life is/was around said one police officer here in sheer disgust. Sources close to the CPI Maoists said a huge army of Maoists led by Arvind and Birsayee is looking forward to enter Bihar’s Chakarbanda the new impregnable address of the Maoists. The jungle route is preferred. And this cycle of destruction is only to distract the ttention of he security forces to have a free passage for them to Bihar said police sources
Sources said from Kumandi in latehar district Bihar’s Chakarbanda is 70 to 80 kilometers and the Maoists travel day and night in jungles . There are halting places for the Maoists too like Dokee, Metar, Sijda, Kabra Kundilpur Dumarya etc. Food and rest apart the Maoists continue changing their ground strategy as per the needlike security forces concentration, villagers’ response, sudden illness of any cadre, suspicious movement of any cadre etc.
The Commandant of 134 battalion of CRPF Anil Minz said the Maoists have this old strategy to launch a warfare when it comes to their retreat and whatever time is taken in it the Maoists cannot afford to sit idle and go for aberrations like this blast on NH 75 and on the foot hills there near Hurhurree. The retreat is o be safe and Maoists create this kind of situation as their distractive measure added Minz.
A source close to the Maoists in Palamu division said the Maoists too have brochures on SPs here like the one of latehar SP Michael S Raj whom the Maoists regard for honesty and uprightness and integrity of character but when it comes to striking against the cops the Maoists have no other consideration except to cause damages to the security forces.
Sources said Maoists’ one blast should not be taken as end point. It is the beginning of many more blasts as one saw on NH 75 on Dec 9 when one blast took place on nH 75 and two more in the nearby area when the security forces were out sanitizing the area.
