Retired BSL employees to protest alleging discrimination

Hundreds of retired employees of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) threatened to protest at Administrative Building on July 22 against the alienated attitude of the management.

“BSL management is adopting discriminate behavior in providing medical and health facilities to its retired employees in comparison to its regular employees,” alleged Ram Agar Singh, General Secretary of Bokaro Steel Retired Employees Association.

“Over hundreds of retired employees decided to stage their protest against the double standards behavior of the BSL management on 22 July under the banner of the association before the Administrative Building gate,” he added.

The association has already requested BSL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PK Singh to take cognizance of this issue and the CEO had asked the Executive Directed (Health and Medical Services) and ED (P&A) to solve the problem, but all seems to be in vain, exclaimed Singh.

“All BSL’s retired employees are covered by mediclaim and despite paying its premium we are not getting adequate health facility while management is providing much better facilities to its regular employees,” alleged D K Singh a retired employee.

“Our numbers of bills are pending with TPA under mediclaim since past eight months and yet to get the payments. After our retirement we are residing here only with a hope to get better health and medical facility but we are facing very hard time,” said AK Ojha another retired employee.
