Restructured JVM to go on 'Haq Aur Maati Bachaao Yatra'

Two-day National Executive Meeting of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (P) concluded on Sunday with a restructured party office bearer committee and condemnation proposal against a number of Government’s recent moves. The party has also raised a series of demands, mostly previous ones from Government over issues including CNT/SPT Amendment Acts and has announced a three-month long Haq Aur Maati Bachaao Yatra from December 21 across the State.

The executive committee has in its 4th central executive committee meeting decided to strengthen party with increased number of vice presidents, general secretaries and secretaries. The party will have now 9 vice presidents and secretaries each and six general secretaries among its office bearers.

The party has also increased number of vice presidents at district level after brainstorming sessions during two days. The party has also decided to come up with a Black Paper on December 27, which will be a compilation of so called wrong-doings of two years of present government. Christ Anand Tirkey former deputy advisor to the Planning Commission also joined the party on the occasion.

leader of the Party in Assembly Pradeep Yadav said that the State was going through one of the toughest times since its inception. He said that the only expectation of citizens from the government in any democracy that the latter would protect rights and assets of the former had been brutally crushed by present BJP led government in the State. He also claimed that Union government was not only a mere spectator of this, but was actually encouraging the State Government to carry on its anti-poor policies for the sake of just a handful corporate.

“People look at Union Government when their say remains unheard in the State. But here the Union government itself is patting and backing State government to carry on its anti-social moves. It leaves no space and alternative for all of us other than public movement,” said Yadav. He said that the party has passed condemnation motion against the government for police firings in Gola, Barkagaon and Khunti and for slapping cases against agitators and students who supported Statewide Bandh on November 25.

Yadav said that the party demanded unconditional suspension of amendments in CNT and SPT Acts which was disastrous for the Adivasis of the State. “The party strongly backs demand of Sarna Religion Code and immediate release of funds for modernization of Madarsas,” said Yadav.

“We are going to organise Haq Aur Maati Bachaao Yatra from December 21, which will continue till March 2017. We will organise agitations and yatras from blocks to district headquarters of every district starting from Oreyahat in Godda,” said Yadav. He said that the yatra was aimed at educating the mass about anti-social moves of the government.
