With widespread rainfall being forecast for the coming days, there seems to be some respite from the heat and humidity for the people of Jharkhand.

The humidity being experienced for the past few days has been due to less rainfall along with an increase in temperature and high moisture content in the atmosphere.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi from July 4 to July 7 widespread showers of light to moderate category are expected all over the State.

Isolated places in the north east can witness heavy showers from July 4 to July 6. On July 5 isolated places in the southern parts where as on July 6 isolated places in central and south east may also receive heavy rainfall. The Department has also issued a warning of thunderstorm and lighting for all the days.

“A deep trough is passing through central India because of which there will be increase in the rainfall activity in Jharkhand as well. There is also a circulation present in eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh because of which showers are expected in northwest parts of Jharkhand. A downward trend in the temperature will also be observed and the maximum temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 degree Celsius,” said Deputy Director MET Centre, Ranchi Abhishek Anand.
